Don’ts:
- First and foremost – if you are unsure how or where to begin when removing snow from your roof, avoid doing it yourself
- Do not try to melt the snow or ice on your roof with an open flame or devices that allow you to do so
- Do not use a typical ladder to lift yourself up on the roof – there are specialized ladders that are used primarily by professionals to remove snow
- Avoid creating a snow pile on your roof – this only creates concentrated weight and runoff can overflow your gutter system
